Merry Go Round Children’s Foundation united philanthropists and visionaries in support of the ComKids program at the second annual Inspiration Night Gala. This intimate evening took place at The Carlu, where guests enjoyed a keynote message on “Entrepreneurism & Inspiration” from Frank O’Dea, Chairman of YPIT Canada Inc & Co-Founder of Second Cup; and Anthony Lacavera, Founder and Chairman of Globalive Holdings & Founder of WIND Mobile.
“In my view, inspiration breeds motivation; and if lucky, can lead to success. If we can inspire students in the way of technology and mentorship, really great things can happen.” said Amie Rocket Munk, Merry Go Round Children’s Foundation Board Member and Co-Chair of Inspiration Night.
The goal of Inspiration Night was to help fund a new record of 525 kids enrolled in the ComKids program this school year. The evening included special remarks from Chief of Toronto Police Service William Blair, Merry Go Round Children’s Foundation Chairman, G. Scott Paterson and Master of Ceremonies, Ben Mulroney. Grade 11 student Hamza expressed his gratitude for the Program through his speech on the impact his computer has had on him and his family.
“Our goal is to help build communities by empowering kids to be their best selves. By giving technology and Internet access to kids, who might otherwise go without, we enable them to reach their academic and social potential,” said G. Scott Paterson, Merry Go Round Children’s Foundation Chairman.
