Merry Go Round Children’s Foundation hosted its 4th annual Inspiration Night Gala on October 18, 2016 at the Carlu in Toronto. It was another sold-out event, raising $160,000 net to further the growth of the ComKids program. This brings the total amount raised since inception to $525,000 – enough to support the participation of over 500 students.
“For most people in this room the benefit of a great education, technology, and people to look up to were a given; but we are the lucky ones. The ComKids goal is to bring that opportunity to every student in our program” said Inspiration Night Chair, Amie Rocket Munk.
Ben Mulroney returned as the evening’s MC, providing lively commentary. Tech evangelist and author Marc Saltzman provided a fascinating peek at many exciting trends in his keynote address on the Future of Technology. Toronto based singer-songwriter Kayla Diamond performed two songs from her upcoming debut album, thanks to the support of Slaight Music. ComKids student ambassadors Dania and Nuure provided a heartfelt testimonial, sharing how the Program has had a significant impact on their lives.
